Wow, can't believe it's only 9 days left.   It seems like only a couple of months ago when I popped the question and it seems like only a week ago when somebody would complain that the wedding day would never come and I has to reassure her that it was only 8 months away.  It's really crazy how time flies.  Carol and I are looking at our To Do List and we can't believe that we got so many things done this past year.  All I can say is all props go to God.  He's truly been faithful and good through all of the stress and busyness.

SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!
(if you're coming to our wedding close your eyes if you can)

Is this fair?!?!  Seriously... is it?!?!  This is my best man's first-born son, little William.  He will be turning 4 this weekend and more importantly will be our ringbearer next week.  Just look at his outift!  I'm sorry, Carol, but he just may steal the show... j/k   He's gonna be such the heartbreaker.  His parents are gonna have their hands full when he hits his teen years.

Some random thoughts and things going on in my life right now...
  1. We are now officially less than 60 days till the wedding (59 to be exact).  Cray-geeee!!!
  2. Carol picked up her wedding bands last week.  Yep, I said bands. As you may or may not know, Carol's engagement ring is curvy, so wearing a straight wedding band on top of that ring wouldn't look right.  We thought about getting a curvy wedding band, but later when women have babies, most take off their engagement rings because they don't want to scratch the babies.  If that were the case, then a plain curvy wedding band by itself would look awkward.  So then Carol just said that she would get a straight diamond band for her left and wear her engagement ring on her right hand.  After thinking about it... I suggested that she get a second band so that her left hand would have 2 rings like it's "supposed" to have.  I also suggested that she get a sapphire one to match and "represent" her sapphire engagement ring.  Needless to say, when she put them both on, she LOVED it.  Way to go, me!!!   Yes, as hard as it is to believe, I do have random moments of clarity and genius.  haha
  3. We're receiving our RSVPs slowly but surely (although some people should just get off their lazy bums and just mail it! ).  As we receive each RSVP, it just reminds us of how the day is getting closer and closer.  Wow, can't wait!
  4. Side note to #3 - That's a big pet peeve of mine.  I know there are people (especially married peeps) who are really busy and have to see their schedules at the last possible moment, and that's fine.  But I know the majority of people who send them in late is because they're lazy or they lost the invite.  How much effort does it take to send in a pre-paid envelope??
  5. Carol moved into our new place already (people are more than welcome to visit, it's really nice).  We're going to be that cool couple that feeds our guests well and who people want to visit.
  6. I bought a new, high-end softball bat.  Holy moly... what a difference!!!   I crushed a home run over the center fielder's head at my first AB against FG church.   It's a bit of an investment, but if you love softball and can afford, it makes all the difference in the world.  (Also got Carol a nice bat and she had her first clean hit over the infield... hot stuff!).
  7. When did I get so old??? - there was this little girl that I knew when I was in college (her mom was an upperclassmen to me).  I used to play around with her from ages 3 to 5-ish.  After her mom graduated, I hadn't seen the little girl in over 14 years or so.  A couple of weeks ago, out of random chance, I was talking with a college kid in my church (my church has been growing like crazy, particularly with students) and we were making fun of our age gap and upbringing.  When he told me what church he grew up in (it happened to be the same church that the little girl was from)... for some reason it made me think of her.  I just threw her name out to him to see if he knew her. Not only was he good friends with her, in fact, she had started coming to our church for a few months now.  WHAT?!?! ...to make a long story short, I was finally re-introduced to her this past Sunday and I was floored.  There standing before me was a young woman, and not the cute little 4 year old that would get so amazed at the lame magic tricks I used to do for her.  The experience of seeing her was surreal to the 30th power.  Oh man, where's my rocking chair?
  8. I totally agree with Proverbs 18:22 - "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD."
  9. God is sooo good and amazing.  He's definitely been showing us so much more of His love and faithfulness each and every day.
